Have you ever wondered how much energy is in a cheeto? Well, EDV students found that out just the other day…

It was a typical morning at EDV, everyone was heading to their first period class just like normal. We were about ten minutes into class, when we heard a strange noise. We quickly realized it was a fire alarm and calmly went outside.

While we were waiting for the fire department some students and staff started quietly discussing what they thought it could be. The most popular opinion was that something had burned up in the cafeteria, but the Da Vinci 9th graders knew the truth.

While Ms. Perkins first period Bio class was doing a lab experiment with cheetos, trying to see what cheeto had the most calories (puffs, regular, and flaming hot puffs), when one of the cheetos started smoldering. This was then picked by the fire alarm as a threat, and cut first period short.

That is why the fire alarm was shut down for the rest of the day and this lab had to take place in Mr. S’s science room instead.
